MEMORIAL DAY
We WILL be open ALL DAY at all regularly-scheduled class times.
Weather-permitting, we will be conducting all of our WODs down at the River Front just past the basketball courts and playground, south of the Pearl Button and boat ramps.
Bring your friends and commemorate all our fallen heroes with a Hero WOD.
Here is some link love from the past week:
- CrossFit is ALL about midline stabilization (i.e., strengthening your core), and Harvard Health agrees that conditioning your core is beneficial to more than just your 6-pack; it's great for your whole body.
- Even elite athletes have body issues. Read about one of my favorite gymnasts (and fellow Iowan) and her insights here. Sound advice from someone who has been through the fire of the world spotlight.
- The Heart Truth reports that heart disease leads to more deaths than all forms of cancer...COMBINED. What are you doing for your heart's health?
- The Strongman Competition begins at 11 AM TODAY at River Front Park. Watch these crazy strong people pulls trucks and deadlift cars.
- Find out whether foam rolling really works for making you more mobile...here's a hint: YES.
Saturday Funday is all about choice, and apparently upping the usual pain quotient on WODs. For your delight, we have a couple of Girls to challenge you, as well as another Painstorm. Make every rep a quality rep, and cut the crap. And maybe read that article about foam rolling again....
