Monica. Climbing the mountain - one step up at a time. |
"I realize now that lifting weights is not just about being strong but it’s really about stabilizing joints, becoming more coordinated, improving range of motion, and learning body awareness."
"I train because as much as I admire Marines and cops (dad was both), there are times in life when the only "first responder" in a crisis is you. Or me. And I'd like to be useful on those occasions."
For me, completing a WOD is one of the most exciting and satisfying things I do with my day. Feeling great in the gym makes me feel even better outside of the gym. Knowing all of which my body is capable makes everything outside the gym feel less daunting. Of course, painting my bathroom still ends up exhausting me, but at least I know I have the strength and stamina to get the job done without injuring myself. Figure out why you train and exploit the hell out of it. Find out what fires you up and use it to keep coming back, fighting your way through your WODs, and through your every day. Life moves pretty fast and we gotta keep up with it.
