Are you keeping up with the action at The 2012 CrossFit Games?? Wednesday's activities at Camp Pendleton sounded BRUTAL. Read all about the action here.

In today's WOD, we expect everyone to go HEAVIER THAN USUAL on their thruster weights. You read it because I wrote it. HEAVIER THAN USUAL. It's 3 at a time, and totally doable with at least 20 pounds more than you would for a "Fran".
Speaking of weights...how do you decide what to use for a WOD? Do you base your decision on what you know you can do quickly with perfect form? Do you base your decision on what you know you can do with great form despite the WOD taking a little longer to complete? Do you base your decision on wanting to do prescribed weight every time despite looking like a mangled mess for a majority of the WOD? Do you base your decision on how much you want to push yourself since the last WOD?
There are weights that I know I can do easily without my form suffering (too badly) during a WOD. There are weights I know are challenging, but if I slow down and focus on technique for each rep I can finish the WOD, albeit more slowly than most. Finally, there are weights I try, then I realize that technique is not going to save me, and drop down. Think about these questions today when you decide what to load on your bar. Will you challenge yourself?
WOD
30 min AMRAP
3 thrusters (135/95)
6 chest-to-bar
6 step-ups
6 broad jumps
