The things we see out the front window of the box on a Saturday morning.
Ladies night is coming on Friday, August 29th.
Be there or be square. Details here.

If you are on the fence about competing in the upcoming Festivus Games on October 18th at CrossFit Peoria, I will re-iterate a comment I made on a Facebook discussion among several of our Warriors:
Y'all it's not about the WODs. It's about seeing how far you've come, challenging yourselves, and getting perspective for new goals. Festivus is the perfect competition for a first-timer. It's meant to be fun. Make an effort to row more efficiently. Make the effort to touch & go on that 5RM DL. Attempt virtuosity by excelling at the basics and striving hard to beat your weaknesses.
I say this because I almost wish the WODs were not released before The Festivus Games. The whole reason WODs for the week are not announced on CrossFit.com or on our box's website is because the whole purpose of CrossFit is to have you generally prepared for any physical challenge. The short notice doesn't lend itself to letting you cherry pick your WODs for the week based on what you like to do, particularly if you have a limited workout schedule. Personally, I loved that the WODs for the Urban Street Games were not announced beforehand. It leveled the playing field - no one came in knowing how to "game the WOD" and win. Everyone had to improvise and you couldn't decide not to compete because you didn't like the WOD.

That's pretty much how life works. We don't always get to choose the challenges placed in front of us, therefore we need to be ready and able to adapt and work our way through those challenges. I don't get to choose not showing up as a coach, a wife, or a mom simply because I don't like what is put before me (though some days I wish I could just not show up). Therefore, put on your big girl and boy pants and test yourself in the fires of competition. These are friendly flames, which will all be put out by the end of the day with copious amounts of Strawberritas. After all, the Paleo Challenge will be over ;)

WOD

GHD = 2 points each (max 10 in a row; leave some for your fellow Warriors, y'all!)
