Open gym hours:  8 to noon

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on May 5, 1868, by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11, and was first observed on May 30, 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.

Pay tribute to the U.S. men and women who died during military service by observing a minute of silence at 3:00 PM, local time, and by performing a WOD in honor of one of the fallen.

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

'Murph'
Run 1 mile
100 pullups
100 push-ups
100 air squats

If you have a weight vest, wear it. Make it hurt a little more than normal today.
