And now for an update on our "Change Your Life" Participants....
As you may recall, at the end of last year we had a contest offering one male and one female winner 14 weeks of free training and nutritional guidance with us. Our winners joined us on January 7th. Here is how they are doing now.
Katie Murphy unfortunately pulled out of our program half way through because of a fall in her home that injured her knee.
Todd Robinson committed to the program and achieved incredible success. The numbers don't lie; and this stuff works. When Todd officially weighed in at the program start on 1/15/2013, he weighed 259 lbs with a 50.5 inch waist, and a 17.5 inch neck.
Over the past 13 weeks, Todd averaged 3 WODs per week and obtained 10,000 steps on 80% of the days. These steps are a key indicator of an active lifestyle. Today, Todd's measurements are: 235 lbs, 16 inch neck, and a 46.5 inch waist. That's a total weight loss of 24 lbs, 1.5 inches off his neck, and 4 inches off his waist in less than 3 months.
In Todd's own words, here is some of what he learned during his time with us:
"I thought that I had a good grasp on what fitness and strength looked like from spending years in different gyms lifting weights. CrossFit has opened my eyes and gave me a new appreciation for what fitness and mobility really look like."CONGRATULATIONS and thank you to Todd for putting in all the hard work and continuing toward your health and fitness goals with your family. Thank you to all of our Warriors for creating a supportive environment full of energy, enthusiasm, and HUMOR that encourages everyone to succeed. Jacob and I love coming into "work" to coach every day and we look forward to next year's "Change Your Life" Program!
"...here is what has changed in my household since starting my CrossFit journey. My house is no longer filled with junk food, it has been replaced with fruit and vegetables. We also have removed most of our processed foods and try to eat as much whole foods as possible. This has been difficult in some ways and there is still the occasional cheat day where we eat out but it is on occasion versus the norm."
"...I no longer have issues with my asthma, I used to go through an inhaler every month. I am on the same one for the last two months and it’s still half full. I feel great and I have a new goal of a 5lb loss each month with an ultimate goal of achieving 180lbs by the New Year. I am making the commitment to myself and my family to keep improving my health as well as theirs."
"The members in your gym are without a doubt the most supportive group of people I have ever met. They make it a pleasure to show up, share the Warrior experience, and push one another to achieve their best...This has been a great experience and I have found a new home at Warrior CrossFit!"
